7 ingredients for a delicious
Anti-inflammatory tea

Decrease pain levels and heal from the inside using this homemade tea

Pain in your joints? Constant muscle aches? Trouble sleeping? Nagging headaches? Gut Pain?

These conditions are often times something that we attribute to getting older. You might think that the difficulty you have getting out of bed in the morning or out of your chair toward the end of the day can be chalked up to some arthritis. With little to nothing you can do about the arthritis, your conclusion leaves you helpless and destined for more of the same…but I can’t let your story end that way!!!

At Crux, we are all about getting you moving and feeling better. Our services in the office focus on your movement, but the food you put into your body makes a big difference as well. Your aches and pains are likely complicated by (and in some cases caused by) a low-grade inflammation. Chronic low-grade inflammation is caused by an imbalanced diet (Standard American Diet - SAD), high stress levels, and lack of proper movement throughout the day. More on inflammation in a future post!!

At a recent trip to my naturopath, I was given a great to recipe for an anti-inflammatory tea. Watch the video to see my attempt to rival Food Network’s best shows :)

If you prefer the written version:

Healing Anti-Inflammatory Tea

1 gallon of water
1/2 cup of chopped Ginger Root
1/4 cup of chopped Turmeric Root
3 Cinnamon Sticks
1 tsp cardamom
2 tsp whole cloves
1/4 tsp Black Pepper
1 Anise Flower

Boil for 15 minutes and then simmer for 1 hour.

This homemade tea is fantastic warm and can be enjoyed cold as well. Keep the tea in the fridge and enjoy throughout the week.

The gallon recipe makes enough for the week and is even better if it’s shared with friends. The same goes for this article ;)
